Sandi Hilal’s statement on the expanded field of public art, and her relationship with the book “On Decoloniality: Concepts, Analytics, Praxis” by Walter Mignolo and Catherine Walsh, part of our research project “Collectively Annotated Bibliography”. This research, commissioned by Public Art Agency Sweden, puts together a corpus of about 150 printed materials, composed of publications focusing on artistic practices in the expanded field of art with a public purpose, from a decolonial perspective that takes into account the bias, privileges and power positions of those who wrote the dominant perspectives on art history so far.
