CLANWILLIAM ARTS PROJECT 2018!
MAGNET THEATRE AND UCT CLANWILLIAM ARTS PROJECT 2018!
Educators, Volunteers, Artists, Musicians, Performers and Children all take part in the final Magnet Theatre and University of Cape Town Clanwilliam Arts Project held in Clanwilliam, Western Cape, South Africa on Sunday 16th September 2018. This amazing storytelling event makes use of the combined power of art, drama, dance and music to create a beautiful and important story. The atmosphere of the Clanwilliam Arts Project captivates the body and soul with its energy and culminates in the annual lantern parade by the local children and others who take part. Filled with fire and light, glowing lanterns and giant Papier-mâché creatures all weave an ancient story together. This particular community has many social issues and it’s often the children that are affected by the various negative influences on their lives. The Clanwilliam Arts Project helps influence positive change through community theatre. The annual event celebrates the rich cultural heritage and history of the Khoisan and is completely organised, choreographed and planned by Magnet Theatre together with the University of Cape Town.
